4. Keith Ford and Trayveon Williams carry the offense
I have been waiting for the Aggie run game to return back to the first half of the UCLA game where the Ford-Williams combination obliterated the Bruin defense. The bye week came at the right time for Texas A&M to rest and get healthy and get the run game on the right track.
It’s actually a bit shocking Texas A&M has fared so well and run the ball relatively effectively without much of a meaningful contribution from either of their top running backs. The reemergence of this combination will give Mond some help and create another avenue for the Aggie offense to strike quickly.
With the stacked Mississippi St secondary, the Aggie offense will need to have some key production from both Trayveon Williams and Keith Ford in order to pull off this win. So far this season, Williams has 440 yards on 91 carries and five rushing touchdowns while Ford has 343 yards on 77 carries and seven rushing touchdowns. Look for these two to wear down the Mississippi St defense.
