After an embarrassing loss to Mississippi State in front of the 12th Man at Kyle Field, Texas A&M football has slipped in the Week 10 SEC Power Rankings.

There were a few interesting matchups in the SEC last week, led by the Saturday night game at Kyle Field. Multiple teams performed extremely poorly, and others proved their dominance.

The Sumlin talk is back

Personally, I think it is too soon to decide what to do with the head coach position moving forward. Sumlin was being praised after the Florida game, and now he is receiving all the hate once again. Don’t get me wrong, I couldn’t have been more displeased by the Mississippi State game, but you never know what could happen in the coming weeks. If we somehow win out, Sumlin will surely be staying. Even if we do move on without him, are there really that many choices that would be a guaranteed upgrade? Auburn is coming to Kyle Field this Saturday, and right now getting that upset is all that matters.

Around the SEC

This weekend, Florida head coach Jim McElwain was fired after the Gator’s 42-7 loss to Georgia. This came as a surprise to many, because of McElwain’s success in past two years where Florida won the SEC East twice. It can be a cold world when it comes to coaching, but he will surely find a great job at another school. There could be a handful of SEC firings coming soon.
