Texas A&M football couldn’t come away with a win against LSU. However, these three Aggies still managed to play well and deserve credit for doing so.

Texas A&M wasn’t able to end their regular season with a road victory over LSU. The Tigers dominated the Aggies in nearly every aspect of the game. The Aggies lost 45-21, but it felt even more lopsided than that for those who watched the game in its entirety.

All eyes were on Kevin Sumlin in this game. As most of you know by now, Texas A&M had allegedly decided that they would be firing their head coach following their game versus LSU, win or lose. Sure enough, less than 24 hours after the game, Texas A&M officially parted ways with Sumlin.

In my opinion, all the buzz surrounding Sumlin really put the team in a bad spot. Sure, the players wanted to get a win in their head coach’s last game, but they also knew that not even a win could save his job. I’m not saying the team didn’t play hard or looked unmotivated, but it would be silly to think that the circumstances surrounding this game didn’t play a role in the outcome.

With Sumlin now officially gone, there’s already rumors that Texas A&M and current Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher are close to a deal. This has yet to be confirmed. But before you start looking ahead to who the new head coach will be, we should all take a second to praise these three players for their performances against LSU.
