MAC Championship Game

Saturday, Dec. 2 – Akron vs Toledo, 11:00 a.m. CT, Ford Field, ESPN

The MAC Championship is similar to the Conference USA one in that it is projected to be a blowout. Toledo is 10-2, and Akron is 7-5. This is lower on my priority list than FAU vs North Texas is, so I won’t even notice this game.

Because I’m not going to watch, it’s going to be insane. The universe has a wonderful way of ensuring that I don’t watch the games that turn out fun (looking at you, 7OT Buffalo-Western Michigan Game). But I’m not going to plan my Saturday morning around this game.

Toledo, already racking up 10 wins this year, should pull away easily. S&P+ has them favored by almost 16 points, and some Vegas outlets have it as a 22 point game. It shouldn’t be close. It might be fun to watch if you are a Toledo fan, but the only draw I can think of is checking out the great job Jason Candle has done as the Toledo head coach. He should be a pretty big name in the coaching market next year. Plus, a little bit of MACtion never hurt anybody.
