1. Aggies extend a new quarterback offer

Jimbo Fisher was asked about his success with quarterbacks during his introductory press conference. He attributed it to luck. Whether or not Fisher was being coy or nonchalant, his development of quarterback prospects has been impressive. For most teams quarterback is the most important position on the field and Fisher is going to get his guy.

Early rumblings pointed towards the nation’s No. 1 dual-threat quarterback prospect Justin Fields being a name to keep tabs on. Fields is a Georgia native and is currently committed to Georgia. Luring him away from the Bulldogs who are playing in the College Football Playoff would be a tremendous get for Texas A&M and for Fisher.

It’s unlikely that Fisher is able to sway Fields in just a few short weeks, but getting him to take an official visit would be a significant boom to Texas A&M’s chances of flipping the five-star passer. The best case scenario would be Fisher doing enough to convince him not to sign with the Bulldogs when the early signing period begins on Dec. 20.

Even if landing fields is a long shot the Aggies are going to get some skin in the game. Fisher was brought in to go after the biggest recruits in the nation so expect an offer extended towards Fields soon.
