Texas A&M football will enter 2018 with plenty of optimism. Here are ten things every Aggie football fan should put on their Christmas list this year.

It’s never too early (or too late) to add things to your holiday wish list. Aggies everywhere will have jerseys, tickets and tailgating equipment on their Christmas list. It doesn’t get much better than a maroon and white themed Yuletide season.

It’s time to dream a bit bigger for those last few items. Beyond what can fit under a tree, here are 10 things that Texas A&M football fans want for Christmas this year.

1. A Belk Bowl win

This might be the most unheralded bowl game the Aggies have played in since they joined the SEC. The firing of Kevin Sumlin and the hiring of Jimbo Fisher have sent the fanbase into overdrive. The future is on everyone’s mind and the current recruiting cycle combined with the promise of what this program could become have taken center stage.

But there’s still one more game left to play.

Texas A&M plays Wake Forest for the first time in school history in their first ever appearance in the Belk Bowl. Interim coach Jeff Banks looks to be almost a lock to return to the Aggies’ staff next season and he’ll be tasked with running the show in the bowl game.

Rather than trying to climb back to 8-5, this is an opportunity to build momentum. In a way the Aggies are playing with house money. A loss can be blamed on the regime change and cast aside on the struggles of the previous seasons. A win we’ll be lauded as a positive sign, but it won’t shoot them up into any sort of national spotlight.

This one is for pride. Even if that is the case, it’s always better to end the season on a win.
