No. 4 – 2013 Cotton Bowl

I’m sure now that we’re in the top five, arguments can be made for all of these games to be higher on the list. We all know this game is on the list due to how well the 2012 Aggies were playing plus quarterback Johnny Manziel had just won the school’s second Heisman trophy.

The first half was back and forth, Oklahoma had an edge in my opinion even though they were behind on the scoreboard. A&M forced the Sooners into two first half field goals that gave the Aggies a 14-13 lead at halftime.

The second half was all A&M. The Aggies scored three touchdowns while the Sooners had three consecutive three-and-outs and their fourth possession ended in a punt to end the third quarter.

A&M would score again in the fourth to blow Oklahoma out 41-13. This result put A&M back on the map and one of the many preseason favorites to win the title in 2013.

The Aggies would gain 633 yards in the game, Manziel would break former Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell‘s total offense record with 516 yards. His 229 yards rushing also set a FBS bowl mark for yards by a quarterback.

The Aggies would finish 11-2 and ranked No. 5 in the final AP and coaches polls.
