3. Trash talk at your own peril

There is no specific play that is in this spot, but the entire game. It sticks out in my mind, and is one of my favorite moments from the football seasons I witnessed in the East side of Kyle Field.

Johnny Manziel was suspended to start the 2013 season for his part in an NCAA scandal having to deal with selling signed memorabilia. When he came back in, Kyle Field went INSANE (this is the entire second half, starting when Johnny comes in)-

A quick turnaround off a turnover, the band striking up a few bars of “When Johnny Comes Marching Home,” the crowd chanting, it was all perfect. Rice’s players were (unwisely) trash talking the Texas A&M quarterback as soon as he came in the game.

After a late score, Johnny made sure that the Owl players who were talking knew exactly who was in charge. He drew a flag, which is normally bad, but this was hilarious. It shows that competitive fire and spirit that he played with. It got him into trouble, but I am a huge fan of talking trash and letting the other team know about how much you’re going to beat them by.
