Texas A&M basketball had their backs against the wall and desperately needed a win at home against Arkansas. They not only got it, but showed a glimpse of could be.

Texas A&M basketball was dangerously close to having their postseason dreams dashed by a terrible conference record. They didn’t completely salvage their tumultuous stretch on Tuesday against Arkansas, but they showed glimpses of the team that dominated West Virginia in the season opener.

The Aggies stretched a 1-point lead at halftime to 21 points midway through the second half. Arkansas was able to fight back, but the maroon and white had an answer for every punch, eventually triumphing 80-66.

The win marks the third SEC victory this season for the Aggies and lifts their overall record to 14-8. They’re still closer to the bottom of the conference standings than the top, but a few more games of this kind of effort will not only get the Aggies back in the SEC race, but also bolstering their NCAA Tournament aspirations.

How did this team, the same team that looked hapless and confused against Kansas, deliver such an emphatic victory against Arkansas?
