Shane Johnson, a JUCO prospect originally from Houston, is the only quarterback to commit to Texas A&M in the 2018 class so far. Johnson previously played at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah and was originally committed to Kent State for quite some time. After what he called an “an amazing meeting and visit” with Aggie coaches Jimbo Fisher and Darrell Dickey, Johnson verbally committed via his twitter account to be a preferred walk-on for the Aggies.

Although Johnson doesn’t have a scholarship offer from Texas A&M, he is an experienced football player who would be a solid addition to the 2018 class. In his 2017 season Johnson threw for 20 touchdowns and 2,135 total yards.  He also averaged 194.1 passing yards per game with 8.1 yards per pass attempt.

Johnson’s dual threat style also makes him very elusive, as he lead the ACCAC last season with just six sacks and 33 yards lost all season. Johnson very recently committed to Texas A&M and is already showing off his Aggie pride valiantly on social media. Expect to see Johnson sign with the Aggies on Wednesday.
