1. Don’t over think it

Texas A&M was the No. 5 team in a nation at one point this season. After slogging through a dreadful January filled with suspensions and injuries its hard to believe the Aggies ever climbed that high. However, the Aggies have looked like their old selves over a three game winning streak that included a rather significant upset of the SEC’s top team on the road.

Whether it’s coaching, maturity or a combination of the two this team got ahead of itself when it climbed that high in the rankings. The fall from grace was painful and hopefully enough for this group to learn the importance of staying level and playing their game.

They’ll be in front of a sold out home crowd on Saturday. Expectations are high and the tension in the room will be palpable. This is another learning opportunity, and one that the Aggies have to take advantage of if they have any real hopes of contending in the NCAA Tournament in March.

Texas A&M plays tenacious defense. They attack the paint and move the basketball well. This team needs to focus on playing their brand of basketball and block out the distractions, something they weren’t able to do earlier in the year.
