Game 2: Texas A&M defeats Rhode Island 4-3

Olsen Magic decided to come early this year. Freshman Zach DeLoach introduced himself to College Station with a walk-off 2 RBI single to give Texas A&M the 4-3 win and the series. After going 0-for-5 on Friday, DeLoach responded nicely on Saturday by going 4-for-5 at the plate with two RBI including the walk-off hit.

Braden Shewmake also had a great day, accounting for the other two RBI with a sacrifice fly in the first and a triple in the eighth. Freshman Chandler Jozwiak earned the start somewhat surprisingly over John Doxakis and struggled in his freshman debut, going only three innings and allowing three runs on four hits.

However, sophomore John Doxakis came in and absolutely shut down the Rhode Island lineup. Doxakis pitched six innings and gave up only two hits and struck out eight. It was fantastic to see Dox pitch so well after recent rumors of him struggling in spring ball.
