Game 2: Texas A&M defeats Baylor 5-4 (Full Box)
An old rivalry was renewed in front of a sold out Dr. Pepper Ballpark as the Aggies bounced back from Friday’s loss with a 5-4 win over Baylor. Freshman Chandler Jozwiak once again appeared to struggle in his third start of 2018, going only 2.1 innings. John Doxakis also only went 2.1 innings as his relief Nolan Hoffman picked up his first win of the year.
Cason Sherrod also struggled significantly allowing two runs on three hits in his two innings of work. However, Kaylor Chaffin responded nicely from his Friday night struggles, pitching a perfect 9th inning and picking up his first save of 2018. As for the plate, Cole Bedford & Will Firizzell each had a solo shot, one to left and the other to right.
Frizzell led the Aggies at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and scoring two runs. Texas A&M handled the end of this game well after giving up a two run homer in the top of the ninth inning to make it a one run game.
The maroon and white were well represented over the weekend, dominating a crowd of more than 10,000 at the ballpark on Saturday night.
