Former Texas A&M football star Jorvorskie Lane raves about his younger cousin RJ Orebo, a 3-star linebacker who just committed to the Ags from the 2019 class.

Full disclosure: Jorvorskie Lane might still be my favorite Texas A&M football player of all time. The guy was such a joy to watch, and he was there during the years I went to school at the greatest institution in the country (Fightin’ Texas Aggie class of 2009 here).

There might not be anything that got me more hyped than watching the Lane Train run the dang ball.

So when Lane raves about his younger cousin RJ Orebo, 3-star linebacker who just committed to the Ags from the 2019 class, it gets me even more hyped for this kid than I already was.

The 6-foot-6, 215 pound linebacker has the chance to be a really special player despite his 3-star rating. You know he’s a special athlete given he originally committed to play basketball at Sam Houston State. There is a good chance he becomes the next great Aggie pass rusher, something his cousin believes is his ceiling.

"“They are getting a versatile player. He’s not scared to put his nose in the ring,” Lane told 247 Sports. “They’re getting an aggressive LB and someone who can be a 6-foot-7 pass rusher.“With his frame right now being 215, he can grow into a 260 or 270 guy. With his speed and his background of being basketball player, who knows, he may can play tight end, too.”"

Lane also described his cousin as a “wild man” on the field and said the Aggies are “getting a versatile player, according to the 247 Sports article.

Jimbo Fisher just keeps winning off the field. This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who watches college football. The key will be translating that to success on the field, something the previous regime struggled with.
