Game 2: Texas A&M defeats Long Beach St 19-1

A beautiful day in College Station led to a beautiful performance at the plate as the Aggies blasted by the Dirtbags to claim the series with a 19-1 win. George Janca, Michael Helman and Logan Foster each recorded three hits as John Doxakis claimed his third win of the year.

Doxakis continues to dominated on the mound, allowing only five hits in seven innings and Long Beach State’s only run of the afternoon. Asa Lacy and Jason Ruffcorn completed the game with an inning a piece and retired every batter the faced.

But the main story of the afternoon was Texas A&M’s performance at the plate. Logan Foster led the way for Texas A&M going 3-for-5 with a solid seven RBI and two home runs including a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh. We have talked a lot about the work Foster has put in to improved his swing and it’s paying off incredibly.

Foster now leads the Aggies with five home runs to start the 2018 season. Helman and Janca each recorded three hits while Braden Shemake rattled off three RBI on two hits. Most impressively was in the seventh inning when Texas A&M batted around the lineup before an out was recorded. Saturday was a fantastic showing for the Aggies as they claimed their third straight weekend series.
