1. Tyler Davis is a man among boys

When outsiders talk about the Texas A&M program the first name that gets brought up is usually Robert Williams. There’s good reason for that – the talented sophomore will be a first round pick in the upcoming NBA Draft should he decide to leave college early.

Williams might be the most talented of the Aggies’ players, but Tyler Davis is the best college basketball player right now. As Williams has gone through his ups and downs, Tyler Davis has been the rock that this team can depend upon. Davis has scored double-digit points in 29 of the Aggies’ 34 games and has 12 double-doubles.

There were a lot of things that went right for Texas A&M against North Carolina, but it all started the dominant interior presence of Tyler Davis. Davis led all scorers in the first half with 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field.

He was just as strong after half time, but his team stepped up around him. Davis did not have to win the game on his own, but still finished with 18 points and nine rebounds. If Texas A&M wants to make a run even further in the Big Dance, Tyler Davis will be the straw that stirs the drink.
