5. San Francisco 49ers

Another combination of a great head coach and starting quarterback duo to learn from, Manziel would be so lucky if the San Francisco 49ers come calling.

Young buck Kyle Shanahan went 5-0 with Jimmy Garappolo in the last five games of the 2017 season, and the team rewarded Garappolo by making him the highest paid player in the league. They have a lot of faith in Jimmy G, but shouldn’t have that same faith in their backup quarterback situation.

They released Brian Hoyer after trading for Garappolo in the middle of the 2017 season, erasing any doubts about their future plans. The remaining quarterbacks are C.J. Beathard, who went 1-4 as a starter with four touchdowns, six interceptions and a 69.2 quarterback rating in his rookie season, and Nick Mullens, who spent 2017 on the 49ers practice squad after being undrafted in 2017.

Shanahan would be a terrific offensive mind to learn from. He made a superstar out of Robert Griffin III, crafting an offense that tailored to his strengths, turned Kirk Cousins into a serviceable starter, got Matt Ryan the MVP and helped guide the Atlanta Falcons to the Super Bowl, and most recently looked brilliant with Garappolo at the helm.

Things are turning around in San Francisco. Manziel could really hone his craft with Shanahan and impress enough in preseason to earn a starting job somewhere else.
