Texas A&M Baseball: Eight Aggies take the field on MLB Opening Day
One of the more recent Texas A&M stars, Daniel Mengden was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 2014 Amateur Entry Draft. After two years in the minors, he found his way onto the Oakland A’s starting roster.
He’ll look to improve on his previous two seasons in the bigs much like he did last season. After a rocky first season of going 2-9 on the bump, Mengden bounced back in 2017 and went 3-2 in seven starts, cutting his ERA by more than half.
The man with the ‘stache is currently listed as the fourth pitcher for the A’s however that may bump down one whenever Jharrell Cotton comes back from surgery. Let’s hope he can improve even more and stay in the rotation!
