Texas A&M Baseball: Eight Aggies take the field on MLB Opening Day
Another first-round draft pick, the kid from Spring, Texas was a star at Texas A&M. Naquin was the star of my first Aggie baseball game. He made the Sports Center Top 10 plays twice that day. He threw a man out from right field to first base and gunned a man out at the plate despite the collision.
I knew from then on that his guy could ball. And boy, was I right? Tyler Naquin made his MLB debut in 2016 for the Indians and is holding his own. When he’s healthy the young star hits near .300 and is a reliable glove in the field.
He was hurt last year and only saw 19 games, but now he’s back and ready to BTHO the competition. Whether its in a starting role or as a fourth outfielder, Naquin will see plenty of action in the field and at the plate this season. It’s up to him to make the most of it.
