Texas A&M Baseball: Eight Aggies take the field on MLB Opening Day
I had to save the best for last. Michael Wacha was another star at my childhood Aggie baseball games. He was a machine in college and has continued to impress. At Texas A&M, Wacha had a 2.40 ERA and a record of 27-7 in his three years at Aggieland.
In 347.2 innings he rung up 336 batters and only allowed 15 deep balls. That’s less than .4 home runs per nine innings. Needless to say, he was taken in the first round of the draft by the Cardinals and they have latched onto him.

After just one short season in the minors, 2013 brought Wacha his first MLB start. That season he went 4-1 with a 2.78 ERA. He’s continued produce solid numbers and the red birds continue to lean on him. Wacha is more Aggie Royalty, especially when it comes to baseball. Look for him to tear it up in 2018.
