Texas A&M Baseball: Another rough road trip for Aggies at Georgia
By Tim England
Game 3: Texas A&M defeats Georgia 5-0 (Full Box)
As disappointing as the first two games were, Texas A&M finished out the weekend strong with a 5-0 shutout win over Georgia on Saturday afternoon. Mitchell Kilkenny led the way for the Aggies, earning his sixth victory in his sixth start.
Carrying a no-hitter until the fifth inning, Kilkenny had a phenomenal 6.2 inning performance, allowing no runs and only three hits. Nolan Hoffman was also phenomenal in relief, only allowing two hits and striking out three. Kilkenny has been the most dominant starter by far for Texas A&M to start this 2018 season.
Unlike Friday night, Texas A&M jumped out to a fast start in the first inning. The Aggies put up two early runs on three hits thanks to a Hunter Coleman sac fly and a Logan Foster single. Coleman added two more RBI on a single in the top of the fifth inning and Michael Helman added the final run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth. This was a great ending to the series as the Aggies were able to build some good motivation heading into a huge SEC series back in College Station against LSU.
