Texas A&M Football: Top positions to watch at Aggie Spring Game
By Jeff Shull
3. Wide Receivers
A&M has some big shoes to fill at wide receiver in 2018. Christian Kirk, who is expected to be a first round pick and almost a lock to go at worst in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, led the Aggies with 71 receptions for 919 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2017.
Damion Ratley was the quarterback’s second option and deep threat with 30 receptions for 694 yards and six touchdowns. His 23.1 yards per reception ranked fourth in the nation.
Have no fear. The Aggies are loaded with highly recruited sophomores and freshmen ready to replace them.
Jhamon Ausbon and Hezekiah Jones are four-star recruits and Camron Buckley and Roshauud Paul are three-star recruits from the 2017 class, Quartney Davis and Clyde Chriss are four-star recruits and Kendrick Rogers is a three-star recruit from the 2016 class.
Ausbon and Buckley were third and fourth on the team in receiving, respectively. Expect them to lead the way for the receivers this year, but anything can happen with this young but talented group.
