Texas A&M Football: Projections for every Aggie entering the 2018 NFL Draft
By Jeff Shull
Texas A&M football has a recent history of getting at least one player drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft. That trend has a good chance to continue in 2018.
Texas A&M under Mike Sherman and Kevin Sumlin sent a lot of top-level talent to the NFL. It’s a shame, when you look back at the NFL Drafts in the last 10 years, that this team was unable to compete for conference championships save for one or two seasons with all that talent.
Since 2011, Texas A&M has had a player drafted in the first round every single year. They’ve also had a total of 23 players drafted in that time frame. Below is the list of players drafted in the first round alone.
Year | Player |
2017 | Myles Garrett |
2016 | Germain Ifedi |
2015 | Cedric Ogbuehi |
2014 | Jake Matthews |
2014 | Mike Evans |
2014 | Johnny Manziel |
2013 | Luke Joeckel |
2012 | Ryan Tannehill |
2011 | Von Miller |
There is a chance that first round streak continues with Christian Kirk entering the 2018 NFL Draft. He and a couple of other Aggies are trying their hand at the NFL and should expect to be drafted in two weeks.
For the purposes of this article, we’re going to update you on the draft projections on the four players who participated at the NFL Combine.
