Texas A&M Baseball: Mississippi State preview
The No. 18 Texas A&M baseball team goes on the road to Starkville, Mississippi to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs this weekend at Dudy Noble Field.
The No. 18 Texas A&M (30-11) baseball team saw their seven game win streak come to an end in the first game of the Tennessee series. The Aggies went 1-2 that weekend and still haven’t won a road SEC contest this season. However, they are only one game outside of first place in the West.
They bounced back nicely in a midweek 8-2 victory over the ACU Wildcats on Tuesday and now hit the road again to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs enter the weekend 23-19, 8-10 and 6th place in the SEC West. The Bulldogs’ midweek game was the baseball edition of the Egg Bowl. The Bulldogs won 7-6 on a two run walk-off single.
The Bulldogs swept No. 3 Arkansas last weekend before beating No. 6 Ole Miss on Tuesday, so they can’t be taken lightly.
All three games can be streamed on SEC Network+ on Friday and Saturday at 6:30pm CST, and Sunday at 3:30pm CST. Projected starters are:
- Mitchell Kilkenny (Jr., RHP, 8-1, 1.91 ERA) vs. Konnor Pilkington (Jr., LHP, 2-5, 2.95 ERA)
- John Doxakis (So., LHP, 6-1, 2.10 ERA) vs. Ethan Small (R-So., LHP, 4-3, 2.79 ERA)
- Stephen Kolek (Jr., RHP, 3-4. 3.77 ERA) vs. Jacob Billingsley (R-Sr., RHP, 3-2, 4.14 ERA)
