Texas A&M earned a surprising unofficial visit during the spring game from the top prospect in the state of Louisiana. Defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher is also the top prospect in the entire country at his position and considered a long shot for the Aggies. Still, it is never a bad thing to show off your facilities and fans to a player of his caliber.

Sopsher has offers from just about every SEC school and is expected to choose LSU. Keep him on your radar, though. He wouldn’t be the first major defensive tackle recruit to flip from LSU to A&M (Sup, Daylon Mack?).

A&M already landed a verbal from four-star defensive linemen DeMarvin Leal, which was a major win in the battle with Texas for 2019 in-state recruits. They also have a 100 percent chance of bringing in four-star defensive end Marcus Stripling from Mayde Creek HS in Houston.

Sopsher likely won’t make his decision for a while, but if he sees the type of defensive players the Aggies are bringing in (Leal, Brian Williams, Braedon Mowry), he might flip to join something special brewing in Aggieland.
