Texas A&M football is entering the Jimbo Fisher era with a ton of hype; here are some players in line for breakout 2018 campaigns.

Jimbo Fisher is setting the bar high for expectations for the start of his tenure.

He was able to salvage a 2018 recruiting class that could have fallen apart after the coaching change. He instituted wide-ranging culture changes and set the tone for his practices. Texas A&M set a record for attendance at a Spring Game, and Fisher hinted that’s not even good enough from the fans on a TexAgs radio appearance today.

He has also hit the recruiting trail hard so far in the 2019 class and currently has that group in the top five according to 247Sports.

The positivity in the offseason all means Aggie fans are going to be that much more jacked for the start of the season. As well we should be. While we should temper expectations for the first year under a new coach, especially with two top five opponents on the schedule in September, there is a lot to like about the beginnings of the Jimbo era.

The Maroon And White Game gave us our first look at the offense Fisher will run, as well as a look at some new players who could have impactful seasons in 2018. Even though Fisher is taking over a program that failed to have better than eight wins in the last four seasons, it’s not an untalented group.

High-level recruits and some new blood could make or break A&M’s 2018 campaign. Here are five players in line for breakout seasons in 2018, including the winner of the starting quarterback position.
