LSU Tigers — November 24

Call it using the law of averages. Call it not liking the fact that Ed Orgeron totally dismissed Jimbo Fisher’s hiring. Call it whatever you like, I’m picking the Aggies to finally beat the dang LSU Tigers this season.

No matter what kind of offense the Tigers have boasted over the years, A&M has yet to get a victory over LSU since joining the SEC. They are 0-for-6. The instability at the quarterback position has not mattered to LSU. Their defense has been dominant and always had an answer for Sumlin’s gimmick offense.

I have to believe that will change with Fisher, who runs a much more North and South offense that’s better suited to put touchdowns on the board against a stout defense like LSU’s. You don’t even need to know the Tigers’ returning defensive starters; they are good every year and will be good in 2018.

The utilization of the tight end, something never done under Sumlin, and an offense that’s better suited to draw out these defensive battles, will be key in this matchup.

Prediction: Aggies 20 – Tigers 16

Overall record: 9-3

Next: 5 toughest games on the 2018 schedule

Final record: 10-3 with a win at the Cotton Bowl
