Jace Sternberger

The six years under Kevin Sumlin had most Texas A&M fans wondering why the guy ever recruited a tight end in the first place. We won’t be wondering that under Fisher.

It took all of one Maroon And White Game to show the vast differences in the two coach’s offenses, and specifically how Fisher loves to use the tight end.

Jace Sternberger was the MVP of the spring game, going off for 147 yards on eight catches with two touchdowns. He was one of the top tight ends from the JUCO rankings and should immediately make an impact as the quarterback’s security blanket. He will also help improve a struggling run game from a year ago by providing an extra blocker inside.

Sternberger brings a ton of athleticism to the position and could be a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. Simply watch the video above and you can see Sternberger’s speed jump off the screen.

There is plenty to like about Jace’s game. Expect to hear his name called a ton on Saturdays this year.
