Landis Durham

As mentioned previously, the Aggies return most of their front seven, and that includes SEC sacks leader Landis Durham. We’ll forgive you if you didn’t know he led the SEC in sacks — it was not talked about much outside of SEC Network broadcasts of Aggie games.

Still, it was an unexpected breakout season for Durham, who up until 2017 had just six tackles and no sacks in his first two years with the team. The 3-star inside linebacker from Plano, TX made a move to the defensive line after spending two years getting no playing time as a linebacker, and boy did it make a difference.

It remains to be seen if his year was an aberration. However, he had nine of his 10.5 sacks in SEC play and the Belk Bowl, so it’s not like he racked up numbers against inferior competition. Durham is a force on the line and Elko will need him to replicate that production in 2018.
