Quarterback – Nick Starkel

For this to be true, you’d have to make the assumption Starkel ends up winning the competition for the starting quarterback spot. If you’ve read anything on this website over the last couple of months, you’d know I’ve been adamant about that since Fisher took over.

Starkel just fits what Fisher wants to do and Kellen Mond has too far to come as a passer to win the job.

The SEC is loaded at the quarterback position. For Starkel to make it, he will have to pick up Jimbo’s offense and rack up the stats against one of the toughest schedules in college football this year. Not only do the Aggies play Clemson in non-conference, but they go on the road against Alabama, Auburn and Mississippi State this year.

It’s always tough sledding in the SEC, so Starkel will have to replicate his end of season and spring game performances for an entire season if he has any shot of making the All-SEC team. It’s not impossible, and Starkel definitely has the talent to accomplish that.
