Improved accuracy in Spring Game
As mentioned previously, Mond struggled with accuracy in the 2017 season. In 10 games he only completed 51.5 percent of his passes and was awful on deep balls especially. To say he looked like a true freshman out there would be an understatement.
He was particularly bad in his last two starts against Florida (albeit in a win) and Mississippi State. He went just 16-for-50 combined. It ultimately led to him getting benched.
However, he showed some improvement in the Spring Game. Albeit against mostly basic defenses, Mond was the more accurate of the two quarterbacks and also protected the football. He finished the game 19-for-26 with no interceptions. Starkel finished 26-for-42 with one interception.
This is without a doubt the most important factor and will determine the starting quarterback for this season. Mond has to get better and catch up to Starkel in his consistency.
