The safety position is very top heavy heading into the 2018 season. Presumed starters Donovan Wilson and Derrick Tucker provide big hitting, playmaking and leadership. Backups include Keldrick Carper, Larry Pryor and DeShawn Capers-Smith, each of whom saw the field in 2017.
Not to mention, the prize of the 2018 class was safety Leon Hall Jr. He could be a candidate for redshirt too, but I don’t believe Fisher will keep him on the shelf this season. Wilson is coming off an injury and Tucker is still young. There could be playing time up for grabs late in the season.
Moore is talented enough to get into the mix as well. He won gold at the Texas UIL State track meet in the Long Jump and was a First-Team All-State player in high school.
