Players believe in the new rush offense
Running back Trayveon Williams was asked what Fisher can do for him as a running back.
"“That was one of the first reasons I was excited to have him named as my head coach. He puts running back in great situations, and I’m excited about that. Coach Fisher is always saying that I need to run strong. That’s very important as a running back. I’m very excited to have him as my coach.”"
Center Erik McCoy was asked about setting a goal for 1,000 yards for Williams.
"It’s a big goal of course, every offensive lineman we have wants 1,000 yard rushing. Just blocking for Trayveon [Williams] is the best thing. There are times where he makes us look a lot better than what we actually are. He is a guy that can break a play off 60 to 70 yards, and we only gave him a little bit. He’s probably the most explosive guy I have ever met.”"
Fisher’s switch to a pro-style, zone-blocking scheme should work wonders for the rush offense that finished with only 155.6 yards per game last season.
