Kellen Mond is a superstar

You may or may not have heard this, but Jimbo Fisher is considered somewhat of a “quarterback whisperer” by college football people. If you look at the number of quarterbacks he turned into high NFL Draft picks over the years, you can see why.

He appears to have had a tremendous effect on Kellen Mond.

Mond was the star of last night’s game from both teams, no matter that Clemson ended up winning. He threw for 430 yards and three touchdowns and looked like he could put himself into the Heisman conversation.

He was poised in the pocket. He made quick decisions and fit the ball into tight windows. He was accurate. He used his feet to make plays when he needed to. He completely shredded the No. 2 scoring defense from last year (that returned just about everyone on that side of the ball).

Fisher turned some heads when he named Mond the starter, but Mond has shown in just two weeks why Fisher put his faith in the true Sophomore. The dude can flat out ball.

We have a quarterback, y’all.
