Texas A&M football: 5 bold predictions for Arkansas game
By Jeff Shull
4. Aggies force three turnovers
Texas A&M’s defense has been a let down in the big play department this season. Not only are they surrendering chunk plays to opposing offenses, but they aren’t generating takeaways to give the offense some momentum.
The Aggies have forced just one turnover in four games. That has to change. It wasn’t a problem a season ago, and cornerback Charles Oliver agrees the Wrecking Crew has to have an eye for the football moving forward.
He says they have 0 interceptions, but actually they do have one, but have yet to even forced a fumble this season. They had 18 fumble recoveries and 10 interceptions last season. Mike Elko has to figure out what’s going wrong.
Getting Keldrick Carper, who missed the UL-Monroe and Alabama games, and Clifford Chattman, who has yet to play this season, back will help a secondary that has struggled to turn the ball over and in general.
