Florida Gators at No. 23 Mississippi State Bulldogs

Saturday, Sept. 29 at 6 p.m. E.T.; Davis Wade Stadium; Starkville, Miss.

Spread: Mississippi State -7; Over/Under: 50.5

This is a matchup of two teams wishing they could start the season over. Mississippi State got rocked by Kentucky in a final score that no one outside of Lexington predicted. Florida broke a 31-year run of beating Kentucky and lost to them in the Swamp of all places. Perhaps Kentucky is just really good?

That may be the case. In any event, this is a statement game for Mississippi State, which had designs on challenging for a playoff spot behind their senior leadership. They’ll squeak out a win against their former coach.

The Bulldogs use a late score in the fourth quarter in Dan Mullen’s return to Starkville.

Mississippi Statte will take on Florida, which is lead by former MSU head coach Dan Mullen who bolted for Florida after last season. Mississippi State looks to get their offense back on track this week after a 28-7 loss to Kentucky, and Florida is still in the process of rebuilding. This game should be close, but I give Mississippi State the edge because of their defensive line and explosive offense.
