Texas A&M football is gearing up for a matchup with Kentucky at home; here is that plus the rest of the SEC West predictions for Week 6.
Not many could have predicted Kentucky would be the one team ranked if only one of them were going to be in the polls coming into this game. Texas A&M football is 3-2 and finds themselves on the outside looking in, where as the Wildcats are 5-0 and No. 15 in the Coaches Poll and No. 13 in the AP Poll.
Such is life in college football.
We gave picking the games in the SEC West a stab last week. Let’s check in and see how the staff did.
Week 5 recap:
Jeff Shull: 7-8 overall
4-1 straight-up, 3-7 gambling (2-3 ATS, 1-4 O/U)
Robert Ford: 9-6 overall
4-1 straight-up, 5-5 gambling (3-2 ATS, 2-3 O/U )
Luke Leifker: 8-7 overall
4-1 straight-up, 4-6 gambling (1-4 ATS, 3-2 O/U)
Robert Ford is the winner this week. Congrats, Robert!
Hopefully none of you took our picks very seriously, as we would have steered you quite wrong. Even Robert’s .500 record would have ended up losing money (thanks, juice), but at least he didn’t do as poorly as I did. I’m going to bounce back this week with some excellent games on the schedule.
The picks won’t get any easier this week, however, as all but one SEC West team has a conference game on the schedule. For odds on all the games, be sure to check out Oddsshark.com.
Funny as it may seem, closer matchups feel easier to predict when it comes to the spread. Huge spreads always have so many factors that play into it: when the favorites pull their starters, how much they actually care about dominating, etc. The unknowns make it somewhat tougher.
We’ve got a new picker in the mix this week as well. Here are the college football Week 6 picks straight up and against the spread.
