No. 8 Auburn Tigers at Mississippi State Bulldogs

Saturday, October 6 at 6:30 CT; Davis Wade Stadium; Starkville, MS

TV: ESPN 2; Line: Auburn -4; Over/Under: 42

Mississippi State’s offense has been atrocious this season. What started as a season with promise has turned into the Bulldogs needed to win against Auburn to salvage it. Auburn beat a tough Washington team then lost to LSU in Week 3. They should have the talent to go into Starkville and take down MSU.

That said, there is something about a team with their backs against the wall that makes me want to believe in them. I’ll take the Bulldogs in an upset.

These Tigers also pull out a big win in Starkville as Nick Fitzgerald and the Bulldogs continue to struggle under new head coach Joe Moorhead.

Mississippi State has struggled on offense in their past two games, and they have another tough test this week against Auburn’s defense. Both Auburn and Mississippi State have good defenses, and so I think this game will be a fairly low-scoring slugfest. However, I give Auburn the edge due to Jarrett Stidham and the Auburn offense.

Auburn may still be ranked in the top 10, but I think that ends this week. Mississippi State and Nick Fitzgerald have struggled thus far this season, but this is a perfect opportunity for them to get a win at home and turn their season around.
