Head coach Bill Clark is in his fifth year (23-12) at the helm, but remember the program was shut down for two years after the school decided to drop football after the 2014 season. Clark was hired after a very successful year at Jacksonville State in 2013.
Before his time in Jacksonville and Birmingham, Clark spent 23 years at six different places.
- Two years at Piedmont HS in Alabama (1990-1991)
- Three years at Tuscaloosa County HS in AL (Defensive Coordinator from 1992-1994)
- Two years at Coffee HS in AL (Defensive Coordinator from 1995-1996)
- Two years at Dothan HS in AL (Defensive Coordinator from 1997-1998)
- Nine years at Prattville HS in AL (Head Coach from 1999-2007)
- Five years at South Alabama (Defensive Coordinator from 2008-2012)
For your Aggies, A&M is currently ranked No. 23 in offense averaging 462 yards per game. On defense, the Aggies are No. 25 in the nation giving up 336 yards per game. The stat we’ve been watching all season is still over six — the Aggies are giving up 6.12 yards per play.
For the first time this year we will watch the opponents defense. UAB is currently ranked No. 3 in total defense only behind Michigan and Clemson. They’re giving up only 261 yards per game, the Aggies will need to continue to maximize possessions and score when they get the opportunity to have success against this defense. Both rush defenses are very stout, the Aggies ranked No. 2 and the Blazers ranked No. 15. UAB has the edge in pass defense where they rank No. 5 while the Aggies are ranked No. 113.
Our scoring streak of at least 14 points was ruined in Starkville. I promised a new streak would begin and that came true with the win last week. The Aggies are bowl eligible for the tenth year in a row which is tied for the 11th-longest active streak in the FBS and fourth-longest in the SEC.
