Jace Sternberger

Tight end is a very important position at the college and NFL levels now. We knew Jimbo was going to use the tight end more than Kevin Sumlin. Basically every coach in American uses the tight end more than Sumlin. However, Fisher’s trend at Florida State was such that we also knew he would use the tight end more than most other coaches in the country.

We got a taste of how Jace Sternberger was going to affect the offense in the Spring Game, but even with that only the least modest projections would have predicted Jace to dominate like he did.

Sternberger led all tight ends in receiving yards and touchdowns. He was the Aggies’ leading receiver as well, leading them in catches, yards and touchdowns. He finished with 47 receptions for 804 yards and 10 touchdowns.

It’s unfortunate the Aggies only get to have Sternberger for one season, as he was a graduate transfer, but what a season it was.
