Foster didn’t appear in any games as a freshman — even with the new rules allowing players to appear in up to four games before they redshirt — but he has earned so much praise from Fisher it feels like the backup job is his to lose.

He was a late addition to the 2018 class and one of the biggest splash signings on National Signing Day for the Aggies. Foster was the No. 271 overall recruit and No. 12 dual-threat quarterback in his class on the 247 Sports Composite.

The Montgomery, AL native fits the mold of the quarterback Fisher likes to use. A guy with above average arm strength capable of making all the throws and is mobile enough to extend plays with his feet.

“Of course, he has great arm talent and physical talent,” Fisher said after signing day last year. “But I loved his demeanor and work ethic as much as anything.”

Foster definitely feels like the next in line and likely benefited from his redshirt season.
