2. Bobby Brown III, defensive line

The second on the list is Bobby Brown III. He may have been the most exciting recruit of the 2018 class, due to the fact that Brown switched his commitment from Alabama to Texas A&M on February 7th, 2018.

Of course, this came as a shock to anyone who doesn’t have the power of foresight. The Ags did not complain though, as stealing a former Bama commit showed to be a step in the right direction. Sure enough, it was.

Even though Brown did not see just a ton of playing time, the production was great. With so many opportunities in front of him, the sky is the limit. At 6-foot-4 and over 280 pounds, he could take Daylon Mack’s now open position at defensive tackle, or he could play on the end. There is not a lot of film on Brown III, but those of us who have seen him play know that the kid can go. If you’re doubting him ask yourself: Saban wanted him, so he must be talented, right?

In the film we do have from high school, we see tenacity and a deep bag of tools. Brown can play any position in the trenches. He has no problem finding the ball and is surprisingly fast in pursuit. That film is from when he was 17 years old. Now he is 20 going on 21. Jimbo’s staff clearly knows how to develop young talent, so look for 2019 to be the year that No. 5 becomes a consistent force for the Aggies.
