Honorable Mentions

Kendrick Rodgers & Jhamon Ausbon

Both of these wide receivers have made names for themselves, especially Rodgers in big moments. While we are expecting Rodgers to be used more often now and have a more consistent year, it is fair to say that he has already broken out into the league.

The same goes for Ausbon. When healthy, he is Kellen Mond’s favorite target. Mond has no issue finding his high-school teammate on a 14-yard comeback on third and long or a slant or dig on third and short. He has had his name called too many times in order to crack the list.

Buddy Johnson

BJ was the first guy out of the list only by virtue of being a starter since day one as a freshman in 2017. The fact that he played such a big role in that game and often contributed during the season, kept him out.

Pair that with the fact that highly recruited and anticipated Anthony Hines III was out for practically the whole season, there just wasn’t enough to keep Buddy on the list. Buddy is going to start this year and will be a huge contributor on defense. Odds are, he’ll lead the team in tackles and make a name for himself on the national stage.
