Tight ends shine in Spring Game once again

A year ago, Jace Sternberger made a name for himself among Aggie faithful as he dominated the Spring Game to the tune of eight catches, 147 yards and two touchdowns. It was absolutely a sign of things to come. Sternberger took advantage of Fisher utilizing the position and led all Aggie receivers in yards, catches and touchdowns en route to being named a consensus All American.

Are we to expect similar production from the duo of Aggies battling it out for the starting job? Glenn Beal and Baylor Cupp have flip flopped in the starting lineup, though Beal spent most of the spring as the No. 1 tight end.

They both had a terrific showing in the Maroon And White Game. Beal led the Maroon team in all three categories with five catches, 70 yards and a touchdown, and Cupp led the White team in all three with five catches, 88 yards and a touchdown.

It will be a difficult task to replace an elite talent like Sternberger, but Cupp and Beal appear up to the task.
