Running back depth may be even deeper

Earlier this month, we touched on the Aggies having a deadly one-two punch at running back, potentially even a three-headed monster attack with Jashaun Corbin, Vernon Jackson and Cordarrian Richardson. That could very well be the case when the season begins, however, two more guys have thrown their name in the race for touches in a crowded Aggie backfield.

Jacob Kibodi started for the Maroon team and finished with 20 carries for 107 yards and a touchdown, plus added five catches for 53 yards. The junior was impressive in last year’s game as well with nine carries for 45 yards. He was a 3-star prospect in the 2017 class.

Also performing well in the Spring Game was Deneric Prince for Team White. He rushed 12 times for 52 yards with a long of 25, plus had five receptions for 38 yards. Prince was a 3-star recruit in the 2018 class and redshirted last season.

Corbin, Richardson and Jackson did not play in the spring game, so that could be why the game featured these two so much. That said, it’s good to know the Aggies have several players who could step up at a moment’s notice.
