4, Anthony Hines III is a Mayo Clinic Comeback Player of the Year Winner

Back in 2017, I did an analysis of Anthony Hines III before that year’s season in which I discussed his high motor and football intelligence as well as his size and strength. Even though Hines missed out on almost all of 2018, he’s busting his tail to get back and become the player he feels he was destined to be.

This prediction was not predicated on his physical ability nor raw talent alone. No, this one was also attributed to heart and dedication. No. 19 might be the most athletic Aggie linebacker since Von Miller and in the playing time that he has gotten, it can be seen. At 6-foot-3, he is able to fly downhill and take great angles unlike most. Hines has great speed, enabling him to drop into coverage as well.

Talent is great, but it’s his heart and desire to compete that is going to separate him from the pack. Hines’s Twitter feed and bio are constant reminders to him, and to others, how 2019 will be his year. The videos of workouts and drills show how dedicated he is to the game and his dream. Injuries have kept him from living up the hype that surrounded him as a recruit, but expect 2019  to be different. Don’t be surprised if Hines breaks onto the scene this fall. To him, it’s destiny.
