The Texas A&M Football team has the potential to be great

I’ve focused a large portion of this article on the possibility that the offense does not keep up with how they played in 2020. That said, there’s a good chance that this offense will actually take a step forward — here’s why.

As previously mentioned, Kellen Mond brought maturity, knowledge, and reliability to the Aggies’ offense. That said, he was never the most electric player. When I say that, I mean that he was never an elite quarterback, just really consistent.

What if his replacement turns out to be the next Johnny Manziel? Can you imagine what this team would be capable of with a Johnny Football-caliber offense and the same elite defense that they showed off in 2020?

If the eventual starter turns out to be a star, there’s no way that other SEC teams can keep up. If the 2020 team had a better offense, the sky would have been the limit. This is not far-fetched for the 2021 season.

In this scenario, this is exactly what happens. The replacements that Jimbo Fisher is looking for fall into place, while the defense maintains the success that they saw last year. It’s hard to see a scenario where they’re not competing for an SEC title and College Football National Championship in this case.

Best Case: Undefeated, National Championship
