The Texas A&M Football team will keep a good portion of their defense intact for the 2021 season. Last year, their defensive unit was one of the best in the country, stuffing the run extremely well and making it difficult for opposing teams to pass the ball.

Primary losses will include Bobby Brown III on the defense line and Buddy Johnson as an inside linebacker. The Aggies will look to fill these spots and a strong supporting cast around these spots will help.

One of the key parts of that supporting cast is the safety position, where Jimbo Fisher will find that he has a handful of options to bring production to that part of the secondary.

Texas A&M Football’s Keldrick Carper received praise from a former Aggie

One of the unsung heroes of this football team over the past couple of seasons has been right in front of everyone’s eyes. Keldrick Carper has been an extremely reliable player since arriving on campus and was recently noted as being the “most underrated player on the team” by a former Aggie football player.

That player was Anthony Hines, a former linebacker for the TAMU Football team. Hines was still technically part of the Aggies program but opted out of the 2020 season to help his family during the COVID-19 outbreak. He’ll be a prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft, so keep an eye out for the former Texas A&M standout.

Hines was extremely high on Carper, mentioning that Carper is the most underrated player on the team, mentioning his physical gifts and his ability to act as a second coach out on the field. His football IQ is the highest on the team, and that hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Carper served as a captain for this team in games against the Florida Gators and Alabama Crimson Tide, showing that this coaching staff values him as a leader. In all likelihood, he’ll be a big locker room guy in 2021 and should be a strong mentor for any incoming players in the secondary.

The Aggies will look to 5th-year senior to keep the defense disciplined throughout the coming season, helping them reach the same level of success that they saw a year ago.
