The Texas A&M Football team plays in the Southeastern Conference. Obvious, yes, but it’s worth pointing out that this Aggies team plays against arguably the toughest competition possible at the college football level.

Playing in the SEC means that you’re either playing against a College Football Playoff contender each year or you are a College Football Playoff contender. Jimbo Fisher will hope that his team is the contender in 2021.

That said, the Aggies have a pretty tough schedule ahead of them in the upcoming season, with ESPN ranking them 23rd in strength of schedule. Let’s see what their toughest opponents look like in 2021.

Honorable Mention: The Texas A&M Football team will face the LSU Tigers

The LSU Tigers should consider themselves lucky to see their name on this list — the school had a terrible year in 2020. After losing Joe Burrow and a bushel of other production, Ed Orgeron’s team became arguably the biggest letdown in college football in 2020.

That said, this is still an LSU Football program that can come out of nowhere and have an incredible season. While they may have had a rough go at it during a COVID-riddled year, they’ll be ready to bounce back.

ESPN’s Football Power Index has the Tigers ranked as the 18th-best team in the country, so analytics clearly favor this team. It would also be foolish to count out Ed Orgeron at this stage in his career.

The Aggies should win their November 27th matchup in Baton Rouge, but don’t be surprised if this is another great game.
