Texas A&M Football incoming freshman Eli Stowers could take the CFB world by storm

Eli Stowers hasn’t played a single snap for the Texas A&M Football team yet. Before we get ahead of ourselves, it’s important to remember that this is based on potential. I am not saying that I think he’ll win the Heisman Trophy, only that he has the potential to get there.

Stowers likely won’t be the starter in 2021 and that’s okay. That said, he’s right in the thick of an intense quarterback competition in College Station. Haynes King will likely win it, but Stowers will be waiting in the shadows.

On the field, Stowers looks like a carbon copy of King. It’s hard to say that the Aggies intentionally recruited an identical player, but you have to see the logic behind this. King doesn’t work out, just put in the younger version of him.

On a more serious note, Stowers may have to ride the bench for a couple of years before he gets his shot. If he does, he’ll be ready to step on the field when his name is called.

Stowers’ presence behind King on the depth chart may even guide better performances out of whoever gets the start. The Aggies’ QB1 will have to play flawless football in 2021 to hold onto the starting job.

If Stowers doesn’t win the Heisman Trophy himself, he could be huge in making sure somebody else does.
